Exhibition “For my people and for my country: Paul Mintz, Latvia’s statesman”

 The exhibition "For My People and For My Country: Paul Mintz, Latvia's Statesman" is a dedication to the centenary of the Latvian state from the Jewish Community of Latvia. The exhibition tells about Paul Mintz (1868, Daugavpils - 1941, Krasnoyarsk Territory) - an outstanding Latvian public figure, politician and intellectual during the first free Latvian state, who made an invaluable contribution to the creation and development of the country. 

The inauguration of the exhibition tool place on March 12, 2019. The exhibition will be on display at the museum up to September 10, 2019. After that it will travel to the schools of Riga and Latvia. The purpose of the exhibition is to show to the younger generation the process of becoming an exceptional personality in the era of the formation of a new state, as well as to show a fast and changing era through the fate of one person.

The materials from public and private archives, museums and libraries in Latvia, Estonia, Israel, and Hungary were used for the preparation of the exhibition. The exhibition was supported by the State Cultural Capital Foundation within the framework of the target program Latvia-100 and the Riga City Council Education, Culture and Sports Department.
