Deportations to Riga

Database of deportees

From November 1941 through the winter of 1942, around 25,000 Jews were deported from the German Reich to Riga.
This project seeks to document the fates of these people and make them available to a wider audience.

Jungfernhof - "Lock(er) of Memory" Project

Until recently, there was no commemoration of Jungfernhof concentration camp, where almost 4000 German and Austrian Jews were imprisoned. Recently the site has been redeveloped as Mazjumpravas muižas parks. The project "Locker of Memory" by Prof. Karen Frostig aims at proper commemoration of the history of the camp.
