Lecture by Dr. Yves Plasseraud and presentation of the book “Les Yekkes de Lettonie”

On Thursday, May 29 at 6:00 PM, the museum “Jews in Latvia” (Skolas Street 6, Riga) will host a lecture by French legal scholar and historian Dr. Yves Plasseraud and a presentation of the book “Les Yekkes de Lettonie”.

In his book Dr. Plasseraud explores a lesser-known Jewish subethnic group – Germanized Courland Jews, tracing their history and development of communal identity through XIX and early XX century.

Dr. Yves Plasseraud is a scholar of ethnic minorities in Europe, as well as Baltic States. He has autored several books on history and culture of Baltic States, particularly on Jewish aspects. He was a co-founder in early 1990s of Association France-Estonie and Association France-Lettonie.
The event will be held in English.
