(Jews) on the Streets of Riga and in the Ghetto
Among the drawings in this series are images depicting what she saw in the streets of Riga – the escorted Jews with stars on their clothes, shoveling snow; a street view in which Jews stand out among pedestrians on the roadway, because in Riga, as in all the territories occupied by Nazi Germany, a ban on Jews walking on the sidewalk was introduced; people behind ghetto barbed wire.
It should be noted that these drawings are unfinished sketches. Their historical value is greater than their artistic value. Beļcova did not create them for the public, but for herself.
